usmcsis's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i really don't want to go to work tomorrow

i just spent two hours cleaning and detailing my car. the inside of my car. i'm so going to cheat on the outside and go through the laser wash this evening. but hard work and sweat aside, it looks great and smells wonderful. now of course i have to deal with the pile of junk in my bedroom floor that i took out of the car. *sigh* i'll do it later.

i shipped twenty-two books this morning that sold last night and i have about twenty more to ship in the next two days or so. yay me. so far, with my earnings of this week, i've bought two miniature cookie jars to match big jars that i already own, two pairs of dress shoes, two dress shirts, a gorgeous pair of dress slacks with embroidery on the cuffs, and a mini-ish skirt. job interviews here i come.

i got to hold a hummingbird in my hands today. do you know anyone who can say that? yeah, i didn't think so. anyway, this hummer was injured and he kept falling out of the sky mid-flight, so i scooped him up so that junebug wouldn't eat him. i took him over to my neighbors house and we put him in the hummingbird bush hoping that maybe he was just stunned from flying into a window or something and maybe some rest would do him could. well, he kept falling out and trying to fly away. i went back to working on my car while my dad and the neighbors messed with the bird. they took pictures and took turns holding it, they fed it some nectar by holding it up to a feeder hoping to give it some strength and so on and so forth.

about a half hour later i heard junebug barking at something. i turned around to look and the hummer was back in our yard and it was sitting in the grass fluttering it's wings. i went to pick it up but bug got there before me. needless to say that hummer is no longer of this world. bug of course thought that me and my neighbor chasing her around the yard yelling at her was a big game and she kept throwing the hummer's body up in the air trying to make it fly and then she'd pounch on it once it "landed". weird dog. and it sucks for the hummer but it just about dead anyway. survival of the fittest i guess.

mama is going to be so jealous that i got to hold a hummingbird in my hands. of course, we're going to leave the part where junebug ate/played with the thing to death out when we tell her about it.

toodles
