usmcsis's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vacation over so, the lowdown on my vacation. i guess i should give a bit of background information for those readers who haven't been with me for the entire past four years or however long i've been here. so, back in 2001 jeff (the ex-boyfriend) and i lived in an apartment just south of richmond. well, due to the fact that i was fired from my job, okay, two jobs actually, and jeff wasn't contributing at all to the household expenses due to the fact that he was giving all of his money to his babies mama's in an attempt to stay out of jail, we were evicted. so, we were broke, we had no where to go blah blah blah. jeff's uncle rented a house, an old school house to be exact, down in dinwiddie for $100 a month. it was like two hundred years old, it had a wood stove for heat and not much else but it was a roof over our heads. so jeff's uncle was staying with jeff's mother because due to her disabilities she shouldn't be alone in the house blah blah blah. so gerry, from here on out to be called uncle 1, moved in with diana, jeff's mom, and jeff and i agreed to take over his lease and move into the house. but, before we could move in the well pump needed to be replaced and the entire place needed to be cleaned out because uncle 1 is a huge nasty packrat. so we moved in with super suz for a couple of months because she is an awesome wonderful friend. we also took our entire zoo with us. for those of you not familiar with the zoo, it consisted of a chinchilla, 1 ferret when we moved in, 3 ferrets when we moved out, close to 100 snakes, and like a half dozen lizards or so. jeff also continued to bring home anything that slithered in his general direction the entire time we stayed there so the number was constantly changing. anyway, so it took us over a month of working at the house almost daily to finally make it livable. so we moved in, settled down. got our junk situated and such. this was like november, mid or early i don't remember. so there we stayed until february 2002 when we moved six miles up the road to move in with jeff's mom. jeff's other uncle, rusty, from here on out to be called uncle 2, or the uncles when speaking of them collectively, moved to virginia from new york after his wife left him and he had no where else to go except for jeff's mom's house. shortly thereafter, jeff's mom kicked the uncles out. uncle 1, a former (ha) drug addict, was caught with several prescription bottles in his room with names on the bottles that were not his own. uncle 2 was just really really annoying. so she decided that the uncles would move back down the road into the really really cold house and jeff and i would move into her house with her, where i was to become her housekeeper due to my not having a job. so, we were told on wednesday that on friday we would be moving. there was a bit of huh what? at first but then again, we were tired of living in the front room of the house because it was the only room with any heat. we had been sleeping on the sofa for three or four months. we unplugged the fridge to save money and just set our food in a cooler in the foyer outside the door to the living room because it was colder in the foyer than it was in the fridge when it was on and running. so we made a deal with the uncles that we would pack up our things and move them into the back bedroom that was not used and they would stay stored there until we were able to move them out. well, to attempt to make a long boring story short, we broke up and moved away and the uncles agreed to let me leave my things there rather than pay for a storage place. the uncles are horribly nasty digusting pig-like slobs. seriously, their house scares me it's so nasty. i mean, picture the nastiest, most disgusting thing you've ever seen and multiply it by like a hundred and that's the filth that they lived in. not to mention that they unpacked my things and used them. ick. so, uncle 2 moved about two months ago, taking with him several things that belong to me which i have been unable to contact him about but i will, believe me. his wife that left him for another dude came down here and showed up on the uncles doorstep after the other dude kicked her out, and uncle 2 was trash enough to take her back. uncle 1 continued to live in the house by himself for a few months. however, he didn't pay his power bill so the electricity got cut off. for those of you who don't know, wells don't work without power. so he had no water either. so he continued to live there for a while longer in his grossness getting more and more gross by the day until he ran into an old girlfriend a few weeks ago. within two weeks of meeting up at an aa meeting or da meeting or where ever it was that they met up, they were married and he was living in her house which had both running water and electricity, not to mention actual heat that doesn't involve chopping down trees. so i had to get my crap out of the old house before the old man that owns the house decides to bulldoze it or whatever it is he's going to do with it. so, i found all this out like the week before last and it just so happened that i was taking my vacation this past week so it worked out well that i was able to spend my entire six days off of work down there and move all of the things that i wanted to keep up here. it's late now and i need to get to bed as i have to be at work in the morning and i am so not looking forward to it. so i will be back tomorrow to share some of the more interesting moments of my week. granted, i didn't have a lot of fun, but i do feel a great sense of acomplishment for finally getting this done as i've been putting it off now for close to two years. so, yeah, i'm back to work in the morning. i just hope that i am not walking into a disaster area. please let them have kept the area together and not lost their minds and destroyed my department. especially since i have inventory in two days. blah. so, yeah, goodnight. and toodles. 11:55 pm - 24 Oct 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
