usmcsis's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- daddy's little girl i found out tuesday that my daddy has cancer. it's called multiple myloma and it's a form of lukemia. we've been sans internet since early this week so i haven't had a chance to research it yet. my daddy has always been the strongest man i've known. he's never been sick as long as i can remember except for the random cold. he hasn't used a sick day in over 10 years. my mother had to force him to call in to work tuesday night because he had bone marrow drawn from him and he could hardly walk after. i'm scared. we find out wednesday to what extent it is spread through his body. and thursday we find out what his options are. basically, from what the doctors said earlier this week, if it isn't spread to far, then he could have just chemo. but, if it is widespread he may have to have a bone marrow transplant. if it comes down to a transplant then my brother and i will be teasted to see if our bone marrow is a match for his. he's out of work now on medical leave and probably driving my mom up the wall. he can't stand to sit still and do nothing. unless he is watching cnn. lol jeff and i are going to visit him today. i haven't seen him in a few weeks. of course, there is guilt there but it is from me and no one else. my mom has been really great. very unlike her normal self. there has been no blame or guilt or drama. just straight forward simple facts. i'm actually very proud of her. well, we need to go. love ya ~ me 12:11 pm - 10 Aug 2002 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
