usmcsis's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- happy thursday day well, i just got home from my appointment. it went pretty well i guess. having never been to a therapist before i wasn't sure what to expect. leah is very nice. and young. i think she is younger than me. =) basically today was like an intake session where we spent the hour with her asking me questions for some paperwork. getting my history and whatnot. she was easy to talk to. i think i'll like her. i'm going to see her every thursday morning at 8:30. it'll help me to get out of bed before 11. lol she says there are basically 2 kinds of depression; biological, where the chemicals in your brain just don't do what they're supposed to, and then there is thought-pattern depression, where you get in this cycle of thoughts that fuck you up. apparently i have both. so medication is probably a given after i see the doc week after next. she warned me though that it can take a while to find the right medicine and the right dosage for each individual. of course, there is no cure-all and i know that. i know that it is going to take a while for everything to work, both the meds and the therapy. *shrugs* i've got the time. i have "homework" for next week. she wants me to keep a list of all the negative thoughts i have about myself. shouldn't have any problem with that one i guess. anyway, so on to other topics. jeff is downstairs now on the phone with a lawyer. he and jennie are thinking about sueing the school for negligance in drake's "accident." basically, they just want the school to pay for all the doctor bills. lord knows we don't have the money for it and neither does jennie. and the lawyer will add his cost into the amount they ask for so that will be covered. well, i'm off to fix some lunch before i head down to work. haven't eaten yet today and i know my headache from yesterday will be back in full force if i don't eat soon. love you guys ~ me 10:32 am - 06 Dec 2001 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
