detour, please follow the arrows

i will be so glad when i can afford to be a gold member again so i won't have to deal with that, sorry you can't make an entry crap. i understand the problem, really i do. and i harbor no harsh feelings towards andrew. it just seems like every single friggin time i try to add an entry i get that damn screen. now i've waited so damn long to make an entry i forgot what i was going to say. oh well.

we have major flooding out here from all this friggin rain we've had. i keep hearing people bitch about the rain though. and i think, hmm, these are the samn people that were bitching last year when their wells were running dry because of the draught. let it rain. at least we're able to shower.

so i get up and leave for work last night. at the ususal time, around quarter after 11. typically, i get to work in about 35 or 40 minutes. so, i live off of hwy 460. i go down like 2 miles or so and turn onto courthouse road like i always do. and what do i see? i sign saying that the road is closed due to flooding.

so i'm thinking shit, what do i do now? then i see the detour sign. so i'm like cool, i'll just follow the detour around courthouse, hit rte 1 and be on my way. well, 45 minutes later, after following this lovely detour that has taken me down half flooded dirt roads all of the damn county it feels like, i end up back on hwy 460. 2 miles further up the road than where i started. i was pissed.

so i stop back home to call work and let them know i'm on the way and to find out what exit we are off of. (we're right off of interstate 85)

so jeff's mom comes out of her bedroom while i'm trying to find the phone number to the store. i was so aggravated i couldn't remember it. anyway, so she looks at the clock. and she's like are you going to be late? did you oversleep? and i was like, no, i just took a 45 minute detour to end up back where i started in the first place. and she says, oh, well, tara said this morning that you were going to have to take 85 to work tonight.

well, she didn't tell me.

tara, jeff's sister, works for the county transportation department (school buses) and she told jeff's mom to tell me and she of course forgot.

needless to say i was even more pissed at this point. so i talked to julia at work and she was like, well, you can get on 85 but you can only stay on it for a while because it's closed too.

so anyway, i'll skip the rest of the points, as it was mostly me cussing, driving on streets and backroads where i didn't know where the hell i was and so on and so forth. so finally, i got to work after a 2 hour drive which should have lasted 45 minutes at the most.

at least tonight i know i have to go 85. and it's been re-opened so i can just off at the exit right by the store and all will be well. and i'm off tomorrow too so i have that to be happy about.

so, yeah, back to my original point of this entry. my only complaint about the rain is the fact that i had issues getting to work last night and back home this morning. at least the well is full.

night.
