usmcsis's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- happy reading i had one of the best days at work that i have had in a long time today. it was definitely a good day. i even woke up this morning looking forward to going to work. despite the fact that it was my day to do inventory. i had to leave thirty minutes early and i have to go in thirty minutes late tomorrow because i'm two hours into overtime and i really do not want to get reamed out by the big boss man on monday. so i have to close tomorrow night which is cool. i've come to like closing. of course, closing would be better if i didn't have to open the next morning but that's okay too. i get a lot of extra work done when i close. and it's an all around more relaxed atmosphere. so i am just about finished with guilty pleasures and then i'm on to the laughing corpse. i picked up circus of the damned from the library tonight. they called just before i got home this afternoon to say it was in. it's pretty cool to go back and read the series from the very begining. it's been years since i did that. i remember now why i first became obsessed with anita blake. and it brings back memories of working with suzanne at heilig. because of course she was the one who got me hooked in the first place. so once i get these three read i only have eight more to go before i can start on incubus dreams. can't wait. one of my bosses caught me reading outside on my lunch break today. she had to reach down, i was sitting on the sidewalk leaning against the building, and wave her hand in front of my face to get my attention. turns out she had called my name a couple of times and then walked right up to me and i totally didn't even notice her. she laughed and asked me what kind of book i was reading to make me totally tune out the whole world. i said, vampires, werewolves, magick, blood and gore, and a lot of sex. she laughed and said maybe she'd have to read it too. i'm even distracted as i sit here and make this incredibly boring diary entry because i want to go finish the book. as a matter of fact, i've been thinking about eddie izzard ever since i took that quiz earlier, so i think i'm going to put in my dress to kill dvd and have it on in the background while i finish up the first book. my goal is to start the second one before i go to bed tonight. we'll see. but i have to go now because the book is practically calling my name. i haven't read them in so long, i don't really remember what happens in them so i'm totally into the stories. so, have to go. toodles 9:24 pm - 29 Sep 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
