usmcsis's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a phone call i got a phone call from naples italy this morning! :) it was my brother. he's back in italy again. they just finished up a training session in africa and now they are getting ready to head to croatia for another week and a half of training before they go to kosovo. i am not thrilled with the fact that my baby brother is going to kosovo. nor am i thrilled with the fact that he has been taking course in land mine safety and such. nor am i thrilled that kosoco is practically carpeted with friggin land mines. okay, i'm calm. i am not going to be upset here. nervous yes, upset no. *counts to 10 and takes deep breath* now, like i was saying, he's going to kosovo for approximately 9 days, but of course, knowing the us military, that is cound to change about 50 times. anyway, then he'll fly back to poland i think and get back on his ship and come home. well, he'll go back down to north carolina but close enough. he told me this morning that his scheduled discharge date is september 5. his enlistment is actually up in october but he's getting a month knocked off. plus he can get out earlier if he doesn't take much leave between the time he gets back to lejune and his discharge date. plus he could get out in august if he enrolls in college. anyway, he is supposed to be back in north carolina by mid may so only a month and a half more. i am looking forward to having him back in this country, even it he is still a state away. i have missed him so much since he's been gone. i haven't seen him since right after thanksgiving when he left. and today was the first time i had gotten to talk to him. right after he had first been deployed he called home a few times but of course i was always at work when he called so i always missed him. well, i just thought i'd share this with all you guys. see ya ~ cindy 1:46 pm - 04 Apr 2001 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
